The DeBraux Parker Foundation

The DeBraux Parker Foundation’s mission is to stimulate, build, and sustain a diverse community of young writers who find commonalities in a shared passion for ideas.

The goals of the foundation are to tap into young writer’s creativity, encourage critical thinking, and inspire them to explore writing as a means of expression.

In November 2009, the DeBraux Parker Foundation launched, "Write On!” a creative writing program for youth and young adults.  This safe-haven fosters the belief that writing renews the mind and liberates the soul!  The sessions are peppered by original and fun writing exercises of poetry, stories, and journal entries that will enable a community of young writers to connect via their literary passions and have lots of fun. Additionally, all of the participants’ works will be featured in a book that they will be able to share with their family, friends, and the world!

Participants will:

  • Learn the components of writing
  • Explore the different genres of writing
  • Share their works publicly
  • See their works published in a book

The Yvette Cade Fund

Yvette Cade PhotoThe DeBraux Parker Foundation has had the pleasure of supporting the Yvette Cade Fund, www.yvettecadefund.org, for the past four years. It has been a tremendous blessing to engage with Ms. Cade and the community at our annual fashion show held in her honor. Thank you all so very much for helping the DeBraux Parker Foundation raise $6960! Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
